Johnny Mathis出生于1935年，由哥伦比亚唱片公司1958年出版发行的唱片Johnny’s Greatest Hits使他成为第一个在Billboard专辑榜上连续呆过490个星期(也就是连续九年半)的歌星。直到1983年10月此项记录才被Pink Floyd的经典专辑The Dark Side of the Moon打破。
