The Jubirt Sisters recorded a 45 and an album for the High Water label in the early to mid-'80s but seem to have been off record ever since. A blues-oriented vocal trio, the Jubirt Sisters were versatile enough to sound comfortable singing rock, soul, lowdown blues, and even a little jazz. Certainly this set, which includes the Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," the Koko Taylor hit "Wang Dang Doodle," Ma Rainey's "C.C. Rider," and "When the Saints Go Marching In," shows off their wide musical interests. Unfortunately, all of the performances are brief (none longer than 3:40) and none of these performances are definitive. However, the music overall is pleasing and full of spirit,
making one wonder why the Jubirt Sisters have not as of this writing had an encore on record.
