The Dead Weather is an American alternative rock group that formed inNashville, Tennessee in 2009. Comprising vocalist Alison Mosshart (ofThe Kills), drummer and vocalist Jack White (of The White Stripes andThe Raconteurs), guitarist Dean Fertita (of Queens of the Stone Age)and bassist Jack Lawrence (of The Raconteurs and The Greenhornes), theband is due to release its debut album Horehound on July 14th 2009. TheDead Weather was revealed at the opening of Third Man Records' newheadquarters in Nashville on March 11, 2009. The band performed for thefirst time at the event, before immediately releasing their debutsingle "Hang You from the Heavens".
The Dead Weather"这个乐队是09年刚成立的一支主要以后朋为主调的乐队, 应该说喜欢"The White Stripes", "The Kills", "The Raconteurs"的乐迷一定会喜欢这个组合, 乐队以TWS的JACK, TK的VV和Raconteurs的成员组成, 可能本人特别喜欢THE KILLS的关系, (再三说不是KILLERS, 别搞混了.......(--") TDW可以说是集成了KILLS那种灰色和绝望, 也集成了TWS"鼓"+"吉它"那种简介却有爆发力的结构. 可以说没有主唱VV就没有TDW, 她秉承了在KILLS里那种后朋标志性的颓废和粗糙感. 加上JACK的吉他和穿插献声, 简直是后朋的黄金组合.
吉他不再像THE KILLS那么锐利, 而是down to earth那种快感. 你也许会在这个乐队的歌曲里发现很多他们所在其它乐队里歌曲的影子, 比如Rocking Horse的bass直接取材于TWS的7 nation. 说到"The Raconteurs", 他们怪异的愉悦感没有出现在这张专辑中. 本人特别喜欢后朋, 也自己玩过键盘, 从第一次接触Joy division后就落入了后朋的情网, 可惜近几年这个特别风格的艺人团体不多, 有的也不怎么的, "The White Stripes", "The Kills", "The Raconteurs"可谓是现代后朋的铁三角, 现在这个三角有了个轴心, "The Dead Weather", 虽然第一张专辑有这样那样的缺陷(主要就是缺少新的东西, 完全就是TWS的旋律加上KILLS的声线). 但相信他们的未来的磨合会越来越成熟, 最后, 后朋万岁!!!
