Original Release Date: 1998 Chicago is a rock band formed in 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. The band began as a politically charged, sometimes experimental, rock band and later moved to a predominantly softer sound, becoming famous for producing a number of hit ballads. They had a steady stream of hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s. 仔細探究芝加哥合唱團的崛起與走紅只能以「異數」來形容。六~年代中晚期的搖滾樂籠罩在一片藍調聲中，藍調搖滾是當時的主流，就連重金屬的宗師齊柏林飛船、前衛如平克佛洛依德等樂團無一不受到藍調的啟發。而芝加哥合唱團卻是走爵士一派，雖然他們並非唯一的爵士搖滾團，在他們之前血汗淚樂團（Blood, Sweat & Tears）已經獲得商業與樂評的肯定，但是芝加哥合唱團卻能把爵士樂裡主要的銅管樂器組納入正常編制，以爵士與流行、搖滾混合發展出自己獨特的樂風，七~年代在美國締造了非常出色的商業成績。芝加哥合唱團成軍於1967年，早期七位團員中以鍵盤手Robert Lamm和吉他手Terry Kath為主要中心人物，他們除各自的樂器外還負責主唱與作曲，當然別忘了另一位重要團員：貝斯手兼主唱彼得．塞特拉（Peter Cetera）。剛成立時他們在芝加哥的俱樂部中演唱，此時團名叫The Big Thing，為成就大事業他們1968年至洛杉磯發展，並與製作兼經紀人James William Guercio合作，團名已改為Chicago Transit Authority。他們在西海岸一帶表演並且努力寫歌，獲得唱片合約之後，就將此時期的多首作品集結成為首張專輯「Chicago Transit Authority」。
「Chicago Transit Authority」發行於1969年，黑人音樂的節奏與爵士管樂組的表現令人激賞，專輯在美國得到Billboard第十七名；在英國也拿到第九名真可謂一炮而紅。十二首歌曲中僅有"I’m A Man"是Steve Winwood所寫，屬英國合唱團Spencer Davis Group時期的歌，其餘全出自芝加哥合唱團團員或之筆。"Questions 67 And 68"、"Does Anybody Really Know What Time Is It"、"Beginnings"、"I’m A Man"曾先後發行成單曲。至此樂迷們也都衷心期盼著芝加哥合唱團下一張專輯的出擊。  DownloadRight Click Save Target As....01.
