這張Newport現場錄音屬于公爵后期作品，期間大量藝人助陣演出。更顯大樂隊風范，Duke Ellington一向以樂隊整體風格為立足點，他的鋼琴演奏多以畫龍點睛般的方式出現。大量的演奏均讓給其他樂器演奏者。Duke Ellington此時對樂隊的風格放的比較寬，于是會聽到一些樂手硬波普式的狂飆。對于Duke Ellington來說實屬難能可貴。
