一开始在一个无聊的深夜听到了 santa monica 从此以后喜欢上了 Savage Garden


野人花园是一个二人组合， 乐队由主唱Darren和吉他手兼键盘手Daniel组成。 两个来自澳大利亚布里斯班的年轻人在1993年时走到了一起， 起初Daniel原来所在的乐队正缺少一名主唱，于是他在附近的酒馆里张贴了一张招聘广告， 这张广告吸引来了Darren。Darren加入了Daniel的乐队， 开始演唱别人的歌曲，在相处中这两个人越来越投机， 尤其是在音乐上他们总能找到共同的感受，这促使他们创作了第一首他们自己的歌曲：“A Thousand Word”，这首歌曲的成功给他们带来了强烈的鼓舞和激情， 终于他们离开了原来的乐队组成了自己的乐队，并取名“野人花园”。
野人花园在一开始创作歌曲时就把目光投向了欧美流行音乐界， 于是他们创作出了第一支单曲“I Want You”，这首歌曲充满了80年代的欧洲流行歌曲的韵味， 而且带着一种别具风格的清新感觉。在创作这首歌曲的时候他们的灵感就一发不可收拾，紧接着他们又作出" To the Moon and back"， 这首歌曲讲述了一个女孩得不到人间亲情与父母关心之后幻想跟自己喜爱的人奔赴月球生活的伤感故事； 以及 "Break me，shake me"这首深沉而疯狂的摇滚歌曲；还有"Truly，madly，deeply"，这首是在他们外出时写给Darren的妻子Colby的歌曲。不错的成绩促使Savage Garden开始出他们第一张自己的专辑并受到了热烈的欢迎。
他们于99年12月推出了最新专辑：affirmation，这张专辑中有两首脍炙人口的打榜歌曲The animal song、I knew I loved you，其中I knew I loved you是继Truly madlu，deeply之后又一首美国billboard榜的冠军歌曲， 而且同样是以描写pure love为主题的。
但是和许多乐队的结局一样， 在坚持了许多年以后，由于主唱Darren希望独自发展，乐队在2001年10月宣布解散了。野人花园的声音因此成为了历史，但是他们那些脍炙人口的歌曲将永远流传
