1969年，Eirc Clapton与鼓手Ginger Baker，贝斯手Rick Grech以及Traffic乐队的Steve Winwood组建了一支被称为超级摇滚乐团的Blind Faith。
1969年6月7日在伦敦著名的海德公园举行了第一场露天演唱会，凭借Eric Clapton的强大号召力以及前Cream乐队成员的班底，Blind Faith乐队的这场演出吸引了超过十万名歌迷前往现场观看。
这支乐队的第一张也是唯一一张唱片《Blind Faith》一如既往的畅销，不论是在英国还是美国。这张唱片准备仓促，第二面只收录了两首歌曲，其中一首是长达15分钟的“Do What You Like”。唱片有两首经典之作：Winwood的“Can't Find My Way Home”和Clapton的“Presence of the Lord”。
虽然这支乐队成为了1969年披头士乐队末期时在美国最受欢迎的英国乐队之一，但是只维持了很短时间。1969年11月，乐队就解散了，当时Clapton已经厌倦了聚光灯，他希望能做一些类似The Band乐队的音乐。
