Instrumentation here often mixes electric and acoustic elements -- usually a bit of guitar or keyboards alongside soulful trumpet or sax solos in the lead -- underpinned by rhythms that run from modal funk to more straight ahead modes -- recorded with a sparkling sound throughout.
