法国作曲家 米约（Darius Milhaud,1892-1974)。生于犹太富商家庭。学于巴黎音乐学院。1917-1918年受聘为法国驻巴西大使的私人秘书。1940年移居美国。1947年返法，轮流执教巴黎音乐学院及美国加利福尼亚州密尔斯学院。创作上不拘成法，不断试验种种新的作曲手法，以多调性为其主要特点，与奥涅格等同为“六人团”的成员，三十年代后期曾参加反法西斯的“人民音乐同盟”。作品近五百件，风格杂陈，瑕瑜互见，包括歌剧六十部（《克利斯多弗-哥伦布》、《迷途的羔羊》、《有罪的母亲》等）、舞剧约十四部（《创世纪》、《人与欲》等)、交响曲十二部、康塔塔《火堡》，以及各种管乐曲、协奏曲、重奏曲、合唱曲、歌曲等。
