自15歲起，John Digweed已經很想成為一個DJ，他用了兩年的時間去從事團藝工作，目的是為了儲錢去購買心愛的唱盤。不久之後，他也能夠成為了Brighton市Savannah Club的駐場DJ了.
之後John曾經到倫敦一間酒吧了，出任經理。期間，他曾探訪過Hestings這間夜店，並對他影響深遠。回到家鄉Hastings他開始在The Crypt這間Club 中舉辦Bedrock Club Night,當時Norman Cook(Fatboy Slim)是他第一個嘉賓.
其後，John陪同另一個派對攪手在Hastings的碼頭舉辦Storm Night.第一晚已請來Derrick May,Grooverider及Harvey這些巨星。一如所料，這晚的門票早已售馨，而這種派對也在之後幾年成為最成功的派對之一.
John Digweed成名於英倫的時間，是當他在Renaissance駐場DJSasha成為好友及好拍擋，並合作到現在。在1995年，他更蠃得DMC的“DJ of the year"的寶座，讓他成為巨星級的DJ。世界John Digweed之後也成立了Northem Exposure這個Club Night,並非常成功。同時，他也想Bedrock這個名字能夠繼續，而在Brighton，Dublin及London等地舉辦Bedrock Party。並成立了Bedrock廠牌找來巨星百DJ，如Jimmy Van M、Chris Fortier等等推出DJmix.而這幾個，這位身兼數職的DJ，除經常守在DJ排名10名內踏入2001年選舉，他更擊敗好Sasha爬上首位，可想而知他的受歡迎度,
