Earl Wild is a pianist in the grand Romantic tradition. His legendary career, so distinguished and long, has continued for well over seventy years. Born with perfect pitch, he began playing the piano at three, and having studied with great pianists such as Petri, his lineage can be traced back to Scharwenka, Busoni, Ravel, d'Albert and Liszt. He has performed for six Presidents of the United States and in 1939 was the first classical pianist to perform on television. He is one of the few American pianists to have achieved worldwide recognition and is a virtuoso pianist, composer, transcriber, conductor, editor and teacher. Earl Wild continues to perform concerts throughout the world and was the winner of a Grammy Award in 1997.
