Well, Sterling Simms (who has been famed “R&B Rookie of the Year”) has been grinding for a while now and was recently featured on Jay-Z’s latest album on one of my personal favorites from the record, “Dig A Hole.” Since I’d taken such a liking to that song, when I found that Sterling would be coming out with his own album, I was expecting a lot more from his material. Instead, he released a somewhat offensive song entitled “Jump Off.” At first, I was hoping that he was going to be talking about a party being a jump-off… but oh, no, he’s talking about a female. I don’t know, I guess I just expected a little more, especially with it’s mediocre production. Either way, Sterling premiered a (low budget) video (which was actually literally recorded right down the street from my house) for the single sometime last week, which features Sean Paul from ATL’s Youngbloodz.
