Alsou 1983年6月出生在鞑靼斯坦共和国的布古尔玛城，她的父亲就是去年年底意图收购曼联股份的另外一位俄罗斯大亨拉里夫·萨芬，此人还是俄罗斯联邦委员会议员以及卢卡伊尔(Ltkoil)石油集团((总资产达117.8亿美元，世界500强之一)前副总裁。萨芬也是该集团创始人，在公司壮大后抛售部分股份投身政界，但目前他仍掌控部分集团的股权。萨芬现在是阿尔泰边疆区的行政长官。 但阿尔苏的成名并不完全是依靠自己父亲的地位。1991年，当阿尔苏的父亲当上卢卡伊尔石油集团副总裁时，读完三级纪的她就进入了音乐专科学校学习。






1993年，阿尔苏被送到了英国伦敦的一家艺术专业学院深造，并很快掌握了英语。1997年，她回到了莫斯科又学习了一年后再赴英国。一年后，正是在伦敦，她被一名叫贝拉次尔科夫斯基乐人发现。1999年2月1日，阿尔苏的第一张专辑《冬梦》在俄罗斯电视和广播中到处播放，并一举成名。随后她的两张专辑《春天》、《有时》都取得了很大成功。而就在同一年，她便开始了在全俄的巡回演出。2000年，她成为了俄罗斯历史上第一个和索尼公司签约的歌手，并在著名的音乐制作公司“Universal”的包装下，专辑发往了全球35个国家。






2001年，阿尔苏迎来的自己事业的顶峰，获得了当年的“MTV欧洲音乐奖”最佳歌手奖。此后，她的事业一直蒸蒸日上，获得了很多国内外的荣誉，并取得很多国外大企业在俄罗斯的商业广告合同。
