“钻石里奥”(Diamond Rio)乐队的六位成员也没有
想到会有今天的辉煌。几年前他们还混迹于街头，一
事无成。

虽然和成千上万的其他人一样，怀着梦想来到纳什维尔
，但严酷的现实几乎将他们击倒，马迪(Marty)住在爬
满臭虫的地下室；鼓手布莱恩(Briann Prout)开着一辆
驾驶室地板上有个大洞的破车来到音乐城，与四个人合
住一间屋，因床不够只能睡沙发。

其他几个人的境遇也好不到哪里。他们凭着对音乐的执著
追求走到一起。为了生存，一度山吉米替人家整理草坪维
持生活，偶尔才有一次预约的演出，；真正的转机是从
1990年与阿里斯塔唱片公司签约之后开始的。

1991年随着《途中相遇》(《Meet i。th。Middle》)
跃居榜首，首张专辑中的《镜子》(《MirrorMirror》)、
《妈妈别忘了为我祈祷》(《Mama Don’IFor gettO
Pray for Me》)、《迷茫》(《Nowhere Bound》)
等全都问鼎排行榜。

1992年《钻石里奥》(《Diamond Rio》)赢得金唱片奖，
一年后又获白金奖。他们的生活从此发生了翻天覆地的变
化。媒体采访、颁奖演出、电视制作、摄影画册的出版以
及每年200场的音乐会占据了他们全部生活，当然压力也
与日俱增。但他们没有让人们失望，他们以独特的个性和
旺盛的精力和轻松的幽默保持着良好的状态。

在随后的7年里，他们没有在金钱世界里迷失方向，始终
向听众奉献一流的音乐。他们8次获得年度最佳乐队称号；
五次赢得格莱美奖提名；有四张专专集的销量过百万。
