Rick Wakeman，于1948年生于英国。他有深厚的古典钢曲之功力，年轻时曾进入英国皇家音乐学院就读，1970年wakeman加入著名摇滚乐队Yes乐团，并参与了Yes第四张专辑" Fragile" 及1972年Yes的经典专辑" Close To Eadge" 的录制，在此同时，他也开始了个人的演唱事业，他融合了键盘、古典钢琴、电子合成器等，甚致配合管弦乐团创作了多张前卫概念性专辑，堪称该领域的先驱巨擎。 Rick Wakeman被认为是摇滚乐界最优秀的键盘手,跻身于"摇滚界三大主键盘手之一"。同时，他还曾经创下四架钢琴连弹的纪录，一度被人誉为"钢琴魔法师"。
