Crowned with 1 of the most fanciful covers in the entire MPS catalogue, this October 1971 Baden Powell recording heralded in the 2nd trilogy of the 6 LPs he recorded for the label between 1966 & 1975. Fueled by his artistic partnership with writer-producer Joachim Ernst Berendt (Berendt helped further Powell European career by inviting
him to play at the Berlin Jazz Festival in 1967), Powell was without a doubt the most inventive Brazilian guitarist of the period. On this album Powell & his new quartet sketch the sound tableaus that colour the background for French singer Janine Waleyne.
Once again sound engineers Christoph Stickel & Dirk Sommer have scrupulously remastered the original recording resulting in a high quality release. May 13th, 2016 was a very special 'Black Friday' for jazz lovers & hi-res enthusiasts, with recordings made available as reel-to-reel tapes as well as in various digital high-resolution versions (DSD/96kHz/192KHz)
