结合所有感官刺激的震憾效果，令人瞠目结舌的视觉处理，拱出年度灾难鉅片《2012》，根据古马雅预言所示，人类生存的地球，於2012年会是世界末日，到时将地壳崩塌陷落，洪水淹没高山，世界知名景点夷為平地。故事叙述：身為科幻小说作家/礼车司机的男主角Jackson Curtis (约翰库萨克饰演)，带著小孩前往黄石公园旅游时，意外揭发政府一直试图隐瞒，地球即将毁灭的秘密。曾交出《酷斯拉》、《星际奇兵》、《史前一万年》以及佔据台湾影史前十大票房之《ID4星际终结者》、《明天过后》等作品的Roland Emmerich，肩负起导演/监製/编剧的重任。Roland表示：「不管世界是不是即将毁灭，就是把握好当下这一刻」，同时我们也该注意地球暖化所带来的警讯！
