Mark Laidman（贝司吉他）   Nathan Piche和Matt Piche出生于一个音乐家庭。 父母是音乐教师，一个姐妹是古典吉他手。父亲是基督音乐人，曾在加国以solo艺人（与“乐队”“组合”等对立）巡演。Matt在5岁的时候开始学习小提琴，Nathan比前者晚一年之后开始学习钢琴。 2008年4月，单曲《Without You （I\’m Not Alright）》在美国现代基督音乐榜（Contemporary Christian Music chart）排名前20。 乐队本来的名字是Appertain Display。现在的名字是来源于《世界人权宣言》第一篇。这在U2的巡演《Vertigo Tour》中曾提及。 宣言里写道：“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
