1995年出生的英国歌手Faryl Smith因参加英国选秀节目“Britain's Got Talent”而受到注目。虽最后未能晋级前三强，但她清澈的次女高音(mezzo-soprano)与亮丽外型让人往往会将她与两位“天籁美少女”前辈：夏绿蒂(Charlotte Church)及海莉(Hayley Westenra)相较。
　　说实在的，所谓的“天籁美少女”路线已经有不少人走过，但是只要一不小心，就会沦为套用公式的复制品而毫无个人特色。而且，我们会因为歌手年轻而将瑕疵视为理所当然，但若没有随着岁月显现出进步或成熟，最后也往往会逐渐被遗忘。因私生活的负面新闻形象破灭、因烟酒而嗓音沙哑的夏绿蒂就是个惨痛的例子。
　　从Faryl Smith目前的演唱可以看出她的声乐唱腔比夏绿蒂甚至海莉来得扎实，但是整体而言不够稳定，尤其是现场演唱时会显得放不太开、嗓音变浊。不过正如前面所言，毕竟Faryl目前还不到15岁，未来有无限的潜能；她的偶像凯瑟琳詹金斯(Katherine Jenkins)也对她大为激赏，甚至亲自跨刀与她合唱。如果她能继续接受训练并找到自己的个人特色，想必未来会是跨界美声界的一颗闪耀新星。
　　Faryl Smith的首张个人专辑《Faryl》即将于今年(2009)三月9日于英国发行。其中的主打歌曲“River of Light”令人大感惊艳，虽然专辑中的其他曲目大多是“天籁美少女”的万年必唱曲目，但是这首主打曲乃改编自“蓝色多瑙河圆舞曲”经典旋律，这倒是跨界音乐界第一次有人将这首古典名曲填上歌词演唱。
It has been a rollercoaster year for schoolgirl Faryl Smith. Over the ten months since she stunned viewers nationwide on Britain's Got Talent with her incredible vocal ability, the 13-year-old mezzo-soprano has performed with some of the country's most renowned classical singers, including superstar songstress Katherine Jenkins. It is only now though, with the release of her debut album, that Faryl Smith shows just why she has been billed as the next Charlotte Church. Faryl opens in grandiose style with the infamous classic 'Amazing Grace'. Showcasing the young vocalist's spectacular range, the track tremors with emotion right through to its erupting crescendo. With precision, emotion, and power, the spectacular standard of the opening track is maintained throughout by Faryl.
