2007年,英国乐坛又出了一个发迹自" My Space"的年轻女歌手-KATE NASH,专辑首支单曲"Foundations"迅速登上单曲榜亚军，停留数周之久(只怪Rihanna太强了,使得Kate始终只能屈就亚军).她的Foundation实在太红了~~Kate 除了独特的嗓音颇酷似冰岛天后-Bjoke(我跟这位怪姐姐不熟.别问我),歌曲用词的大胆也不输Lily Allen,而且钢琴和吉他一把罩,再加上独特的音质(如果创作歌手声音不怎样.我保证我会听不下去的!)所以像Kate Nash这么一位全创作的歌手，不红也难!
才刚满廿岁的Kate Nash,其实本来是要当演员的,多亏她"跌断腿",在家养伤的期间,写了许多的歌,伤愈后开始演唱,并把自己的创作放上 My Space,天份果真是不会被隐藏的,很快的她的歌曲大受网友欢迎. My Space再"生产"多一点艺人吧~~
去年同样以my space出名的Lily Allen,被她批评的人真的不少,不过Kate Nash却是Lily Allen在自己的My Space公开赞赏的女歌手(能受到这位搞怪天后的恭维..真是太难得了!),因为和Lily Allen同样出自 my space且用词大胆,都有创作实力的2人不免俗又被拿来做比较.也引发2派歌迷之争,到底谁学谁?谁像谁? (不用争啦.我觉得2位都很棒!!)

Kate Nash对于媒体的这些比较觉得非常的烦,她不喜欢被拿来做比较.为什么媒体总是喜欢把拥有创作天份的年轻女歌手叫作"Next Lily ALlen".她的排名不是靠这些话题冲上来的,全是Kate 本人自己跑了多场街头表演辛苦换来的(这点让我非常欣赏这位小妮子).
不过Kate 承认My Space真的是宣传的好方式.她不必靠着发行专辑或是认识唱片工业的人也能让美国甚至世界各地的朋友听见她的音乐.总之真是太棒了!!
在发行首张创作专辑" Made of Bricks"之前,Kate Nash曾经发行一双A张单曲"Caroline's A Victim",限量1000张,这首歌并没有收录在专辑中,不过官网有提供免费下载,喜欢的朋友可以去载来听听.另一首B-sides歌曲Birds则是幸运的被收录在专辑中~(我比较喜欢Birds).还有一首Stitching Leggings"不确定这首是否也是B-sides?因为专辑也没收录!但也颇好听就是了!Kate 唱的超快!根本来不及听她唱什么~~ (她该不会骨子里是Rapper?)
Kate Nash的音乐走的清新民谣/POP又带点电子. Kate弹Keyboard的样子真是可爱极了.除了嗓音独特有磁性.其大胆的言词也常令人吓一跳(常常听歌听到一半突然出现F**king.Sh*t或Bi*ch),我一度以为是"谐音~~~~ 事实证明(她故意的.哈哈)

其实我觉得这张的脸型很像"情人眼里出西施"的男主角"Jack Black"
Made of Bricks这张专辑非常耐听,做为一位年轻的创作歌手,这张专辑已经非常棒了!每首歌都是以故事性的歌词为主,所以她不是"社会观察型"的歌手!.

　排行榜一鸣惊人之作,曾被Spinner列入"当周最糟的歌词"原因是词中写道" You Said I must eat so much lemons,cause I am so bitter你说我一定是吃太多柠檬.才会这么会挖"苦"人.英国没有柠檬吗?柠檬是"酸的(Sour)的 "(好G车的批评) 不过无论如何.这首歌真的太好听了.的确有排行榜的实力,强力推荐!!(MV)
＊Mouthwash
专辑第二支主打歌,愈听愈好听,比第一主打Foundations还赞.开场的钢琴声,证明了Kate 真的弹的很好!也不禁让人想到美国的Vanessa Carlton(A thousand miles那位).歌名叫"漱口水"实在太酷了!! (MV),用钢琴自弹自唱好像比吉他难耶!总之这首歌一定要推荐的.比较能表现Kate 式风格.
＊Merry Happy
　继Mouthwash之后最喜欢的一首歌。虽然是放在最后一首(听歌)
＊We Get On
　描述暗恋的小情歌.虽然最后她暗恋失败了.--很可爱的一首歌! (MV)
＊Pumpkin Soup
专辑第三支主打歌~渐渐发现KATE的MV路线都走"可爱风"了.不过还是值得推荐!(MV)
＊The Shit Song
　这首歌的KeyBoard非常讨喜,也是带点电子的好歌! (听歌)

除了上面这些歌,其他像是Nicest Thing是首带点哀伤的慢歌.值得细细聆听.这张专辑在8月推出后.顺利登上"专辑榜冠军".单曲登不上冠军( 只怪Rihanna的小雨伞太强了).专辑总该拿下冠军吧! Kate Nash的成功不是运气.全是Kate Nash自己的实力! Kate Nash清新不做作的形像.在访问中表露无疑.访谈中看的出小妮子非常的害羞紧张~~又表现出小女孩的开朗与乐观.听到她的笑声真的很可爱呢.想必她的个性也很令人喜欢!!

Kate Nash很喜欢街头演唱(很多创作歌手也很喜欢).看到她在现场和歌迷的互动真的超口爱~~BUT胖胖的Kate 有空还是减个肥好了~~不习惯看到"婴儿肥"的创作歌手.除非她真的想和和同样婴儿肥又是易胖体质的Lily Allen比...哈哈哈
Kate Nash的造型真的很"自然风".她的洋装STYPE让人不太能和她的音乐联想起来.我忍不住又想拿来和Lily Allen比了( Lily Allen不愧是搞怪小天后.穿衣肥比Kate 好看多啦).印象中的创作歌手很多都是很"率性"的穿着.Kate Nash大概走的是"甜美创作女声吧"~~在她的CD内页里.以"纸娃娃"呈现出可爱的内页~~让人觉得整个CD内页都很卡娃伊喔 ~~~
总之,自KT Tunstall之后,这种"自弹自唱"的自然派歌手.Kate Nash就是2007年的英伦代表! 她的音乐还有很多成长空间.不过我仍希望她的甜美音乐魅力能延烧至台湾~~

英伦歌手Kate Nash前几天在她的官网让人免费开放下载她的单曲“I Just Love You More”，

不过这首歌几乎只有一句歌词，就是“I Just Love You More”这句，
哈哈哈！这是一首比较阴郁一点的摇滚抒情，
不过她即将在四月十九号推出的个人第二张专辑“Crayon Full of Colour”的首支主打
是轻快的“Doo-wah Do”。

From the first lines of the ebullient opener Paris, taken from Kate Nash's second album, it is apparent that Miss Nash has made the transition from bedroom blogger and ingenue to young woman on a mission. The song and the album are all at once classic Nash but it is quite clear that though the redhead still smells like teen spirit, now there are definite and fragrant top notes of the woman she is growing into.
Kate writes her own songs - she plays piano, guitar, bass, drums - and producer Bernard Butler found a way of bringing the songs to life without losing any of her idiosyncratic
personality. The result; an album that is eclectic, adventurous, and honest. There's the 60s girl group influence of "Kiss That Grrrl" (and more self-mocking
paranoia: 'She's instantly more pretty and interesting than me') and the gentle beauty of the folksy "You Were So Far Away." There are minimalist lyrics on both the raw punk of
"I've Got A Secret," and "I Just Love You More." Set against Sonic Youth feedback, Kate sings 'I just love you more than anything' between expressive yelps; by the end, she is
breathless.

Kate's debut album, Made of Bricks, was about wanting to be in love; Kate's new effort is about trust, sexism, homophobia, honesty - and how being in a serious relationship has
made her feel less selfish and more grown-up. 'I don't want to be gushy and weird about it, but I am in love! I don't worry about making myself too vulnerable: I always write
with my heart on my sleeve. If you don't then you're not living.'
The final track, "I Hate Seagulls," is about 'admitting you're in love with someone'. It's a stream-of-consciousness list of what she hates (seagulls; being sick; burning her
finger on the toaster; nits) and what she likes (cream teas, reading, 'your hand in mine'). 'It's basically saying that I hate all this crap life throws at you, but it's okay because I love somebody and they love me back.'
With a second album of which she is rightly proud - 'nothing was rushed; I've developed as a writer' - does Kate still feel like an outsider? 'I will probably always feel like
an outsider because I don't fit the format of a female artist. But I'm not worried about it. No way. I've always done things my own way and, for that reason alone, I'm happy.'
