If you were a pre-teen, teen, or young adult, during the mid-60's to mid-70's and you vacillated between folk, pop, and rock on the radio station(s) because, well, because depending on your mood different music appealed to you (and we all were very moody in those days), and when you encountered a song or album or even a radio station where there was a wonderful fusion of that music, and you tended to listen to that over and over again--well, you may have been thinking it would be nice to hear that kind of music again--and not on a greatest hits album, or sung by 60 and 70 year old men and women, but something new and fresh.
Well, if that is something you have been pondering for a while, you may be pleasantly surprised with the Mowgli's. I heard them on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night, and immediately thought "I have to see if their stuff is on Amazon". Now, I have to tell you there are very few bands/musicians that I hear now-a-days that I have that reaction to.
I'm not saying The Mowgli's are better than some of the bands we listened to, but they certainly could compete with a number of them, and I'm all for the next generation picking up where we left off and trying to take the next step with this type of music.
It just kind of makes me feel young again.
